Dr. Venkat, appointed to the Health Alliance Global, Inc. Board April 2025, is Founder of Karkinos Healthcare, a technology-led, purpose-driven oncology enterprise enabling discovery through delivery of care. Karkinos is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, India’s largest private sector company, where he works in the Chairman’s office on health initiatives.
Prior to founding Karkinos, Dr. Venkat spent almost two decades with the Tata Group in various capacities. His last assignment was as the Managing Trustee of the Tata Trusts where he was responsible for the operations, oversight, and coordination of the Trusts’ various development programs across India. He was instrumental in the conceptualization of the Distributed Cancer Care Network, led the development of multiple apex cancer hospitals across the country, and served on governing boards of multiple institutions, including Tata Medical Center. For several years, he served as Executive Assistant to Mr. Ratan Tata, former Chairman of the Tata Group.
Dr. Venkat is both a Science and a Law graduate, with an MBA from the Sri Satya Sai University, Puttaparthi. Additionally, he completed his Doctorate in Engineering from WMG, University of Warwick, UK on the role of technology in health care systems. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program from the Harvard Business School.
Dr. Venkat is a member of the Governing Council of Jio Institute, a multi-disciplinary higher-education institute of eminence. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, and IIT Madras.
