Bob Dudley, the former CEO of BP, served in that role from 2010 to 2020. During his four-decade tenure with BP, he held diverse positions encompassing engineering, commercial, strategic, international, and executive responsibilities. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored as the Petroleum Executive of the Year by Energy Intelligence in 2018. His expertise spans strategic planning, risk management, international operations, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, as well as operational excellence.
Currently, Bob is chair of the international, industry-led Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), committed to accelerating the industry’s response to climate change. He serves as a director of LyondellBasell, and Freeport-McMoRan. He chairs Accenture’s Global Energy board and the board of Axio, a private cyber risk quantification company. He is a member of the board of 8 Rivers, a world leading Net Zero Solutions provider and chairs Prism Global, a private equity company. He’s on the Bahrain National Oil and Gas Company Board and a member of the US Business Council and a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in Britain. In May 2021, he launched Dudley Solar Developments. In 2024 Bob was appointed to the board of RMI, a global company providing medical, security and technical staffing; and also to the board of Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest and most diversified energy and chemicals companies, supplying oil, gas, and petrochemicals to global markets.
Mr. Dudley holds dual American and British citizenship. He earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University, an MIM from the Thunderbird School of International Management (now part of Arizona State), and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois.
